Greetings, Noé. I am Tantai Jin. A friend of yours sent me your way to help you satisfy your hunger. You needn't worry about feeling guilty. Your friend is doing me a great favor and this is how I am repaying him.
{Plus he isn't a stranger to pain.}
My only stipulation is that you do not weaken me overmuch. I could be dangerous that way.
Tantai Jin? Oh...! Um. Who asked you? I wouldn't want to take too much, no!
[He had almost forgotten that Vanitas had said he would check with others about this. Noé has just been hesitant to really advertise that he is a vampire ever since Vanitas had warned him to be careful. That some people had stories where vampires had to feed to survive.]
[Noé probably still will be stubborn about it. Trying to at least delay how often he might need to feed. But given he hasn't met or talked to the other yet, he isn't sure what sort of impression Tantai might have of him. What Vanitas might have said.]
[ Responding to a conveniently timed request, Vincent now stands outside of Noé’s room at the Valentia, softly rapping against the door.
In hand, he has a soft lavender pastry box, topped with a lovely white bow. Whilst waiting, his gaze will wander, an arm tucked behind his back. Something tells him that they will have an additional guest this evening, to monitor the situation… and the thought has the blond smiling to himself in amusement. ]
[Well, he isn't wrong about the extra guest, for it's precisely that person who opens the door, knowing smirk firmly in place. Without so much as a word between them, Vanitas carefully steps forward, dodging the pastry box in order to steal a kiss from Vincent - long and luxurious - before stepping back with the lick of his lips and a chuckle.]
So glad you could make it... We've been expecting you.
[That said, he turns and strides into the room with a wave of his hand indicating Vincent should follow.]
[He shifts, glancing over to the door when he hears the knock. Vanitas heads over to open the door before him, his head tilting in curiosity. Because it's him, he hadn't really considered that Vanitas was purposely sticking around to keep an eye on things. That Vanitas wanted to be there when he arranged to see Vincent. Given that he doesn't necessarily expect anything to really happen. And with everything that had been happening lately, he had completely forgotten about Vincent's wanting to bring him a dessert.
So, of course, he brightens when he sees the box.]
[ Vincent’s smile brightens somewhat, upon seeing Vanitas (and thus having his suspicions confirmed) - and to his kiss, he’ll lean in to reciprocate with an appreciative hum.
Following behind, cheeks faintly colored in his pleasure, he raises the box to present. ]
I hardly think this will compare to the real thing, but I hope it suits your taste, nonetheless. [ Offering the box for Noé to accept, he nods with insistence. ] A special request put in to the local bakery.
[ Of course, it is none other than Tarte Tatin.
And once his hands are free, Vincent will address Vanitas by running his fingertips through the other man’s fringe, on both sides of his face. ]
[Once greetings are exchanged and the gift delivered, Vanitas places himself strategically between Noé and Vincent, like a bodyguard. Things may be better between them, but... well. He can't help not wanting to take any chances. Which would probably help explain why even now he's still armed, despite the otherwise lax atmosphere.]
Isn't that sweet of him, Noé? Extra dessert for you.
[A hum of contentment escapes his throat as he revels in the touch, eyes closing a fraction as he regards Vincent with obvious curiosity.]
I figured it might be best for there to be a chaperone at least the first time. You understand, don't you?
[One might be forgiven if they mistook him for a child at Christmas, the way he lights up upon opening to peek in the box. The happiness and excitement are evident in the way his eyes sparkle. A familiar sight for Vanitas, but maybe new to Vincent.]
Tarte tatin? Vanitas, it's tarte tatin!
[As if the other wouldn't have likely already known exactly which dessert he would like best. But considering he had completely forgotten Vincent's offering to get him a dessert, this is basically a surprise treat. He doesn't even read into it as Vanitas positions himself between them, or that the other has his knives on him. Vanitas usually does, so it isn't that strange. At least he just barely restrains himself from trying the tarte tatin immediately. He closes the box and puts it on his desk for now.]
[ Yes, Vincent could not help but notice that he is armed, and based off of his body language now, it’s clear that he has done so specifically for the occasion. Leaning in closer, as though to kiss Vanitas once more, his lashes lower, pupils dilating just so. ]
You shouldn’t make promises to me- [ Gradually, his gaze lowers to his knives, before snapping back up to meet the other’s eyes. ] -if you don’t plan to fulfill them, kitten.
[ Standing, he straightens out his shoulders with a bright and polite smile returning to his face. ]
That said, I wouldn’t think to go back on my word. It pleases me that the gesture been well received. I do hope that you enjoy it, Noé.
[Even in such a questionable situation as this, Vanitas' expression can't help softening at Noé's child-like enthusiasm. He regards his friend with a tender smile, before facing Vincent in time to catch him leaning in with that suspect look.]
Consider it... [From beneath his own dark lashes, he regards his lover slyly, smile never wavering.] ...open for negotiation.
[That said, he seems to regard all as being well and steps out of the way, ushering Vincent forward into the room more.]
i um. i don't think there was anything else? not immediately, anyway. besides, if you're already helping me with this, it's plenty! so please don't worry!

Where would you like to meet me? It can be my place if you want, so I could sit down afterwards.
no subject

no subject

no subject
